The District provides 3 levels of training:

  Beginner's School

This meets from 10am to Noon every Saturday broadly during School Term times:

It welcomes all beginners from initial bell-handling tuition, Rounds and Call Changes, Plain Hunt, Plain Bob Doubles and Grandsire up to simple touches of Plain Bob doubles or minor.

Everyone is welcome to come – no booking required.

Contact Marian Wood on 01371- 856382 for more information.

  Beyond Bob Minor

This meets from 7pm to 9pm, usually on the last Saturday of the month: each session starts with a short theory and discussion session from 7pm with actual ringing from 7:30 to 9pm.

These sessions cover extended teaching taking students on from Plain Bob up to Surprise Minor methods, including simple (and not so simple!) variations on Doubles methods such as St. Simons, Stedman Doubles and more commonly rung methods such as Kent & Oxford Treble Bob.
If time allows we can include conducting simple touches, etc. as requested.

Contact Alistair Donaldson on 01787-463106 for more information.

  Advanced Practice

These practices are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at St. Michael’s Braintree: they follow from the Beyond Bob Minor sessions above, extending methods from 6 to 8 and 10 bells.

Please come along if you want to ring Treble Bob hunt, Surprise major, Stedman Triples or whatever. We also intend to ring some Grandsire or Stedman Caters and Plain or Little Bob Royal methods during the evening whenever practicable.

Contact Maurice Downs on 01376-330412  for more information,
or if you wish to practice a particular method.
